The only mature part of a megaman game should be the box art.

I agree with you about Zero, JT. But I consider the Zero storyline to be an extension of X, since it technically features the same characters, and the events are actually linked together significantly.

Well the only characters carried over from X to Zero are... X and Zero. Weil, Omega, Copy X, the Guardians, the Cyber-Elves, none of them were in MMX.
Plus X is a ghost and Zero is like a completely different person. I mean I know they're significantly linked, but none of the linking has happened in the X series and it's all just MMZ backstory and series lore (which is a really unfitting word for this series but whatever) that Capcom has given us.
But whatever.

X and Zero were the only frequently recurring characters in the X series besides Sigma, lol. Light capsules don't even count.
As for the Cyber-elves and all that... well, like I said, I consider Zero an EXTENSION. An extension implies new content. If it were exactly the same, it would just be... more MMX. Besides, the games play almost exactly the same. Biggest difference is the inclusion of overworlds and a more interactive plot. All the MMZ games feel more like the X games than anything post X5.
The whole point in me saying all of this was just to say that I agree with you that X/Zero is as mature as it's going to get. Whether you wanna consider them linked series or not, I think they're both equally mature in most of the same ways. Zero just puts it in your face more because it's a more story-driven game.

They're all fucking extensions of the chronologically previous timeline.

I figured that went without saying. Starforce carries on the tradition in that universe as well.

I know you're technically right. But I was trying to say that I feel the X/Z series' are a little more closely related to each other beyond just being in the same timeline.
Anywho... I'm really curious about this whole thing.

I'm pulling for the fighting game idea. As long as I get my Fire Man.

I have nothing to add, except that the Megaman series as an MMO would be dogshit.

Imagine it, though. Make your own Robot Master, and your own stage, and trade stages online. It'd be like Little Big Planet, Mega Man style.
