Name locations, worlds, levels or stages from games that you enjoy and why.
For me, I just love the whole universe that the original Sonic games take place in. They're colourful, creative and fun. A perfect setting for a platformer.
Also more recently I'd say the world of Machanarium. Since that whole game was about atmosphere it was no surprise that I fell in love with the world it took place in. Every little detail just makes it feel like you're a small part of a world much bigger than you.
Also Rapture from Bioshock. Seriously the whole location for that game just sets the tone for everything else.
So what levels and stuff do you like?

The Neverhood, and the dreamworlds from NiGHTS.
Also, I really love the backgrounds and such in Earthworm Jim. That one's a bit of a stretch, since I'm appreciating the art more than the "world", but I figured I'd throw it out there.
EDIT: Also... fucking Pokémon. People have asked me what video game universe I would want to be a part of, and the ONLY answer I can think of is Pokémon. The lifestyle of being a traveling trainer, the idea of catching befriending and battling a team of monsters. Oh God, what I wouldn't give...

One of my favorite settings was Haven City in Jak II. There was just a lot of personality, and so much to do.
The mall in Dead Rising was also very fun.
The cabin in Condemned 2 was the scariest part of a game I've ever witnessed.

Would naming the stage number work? Because I can't remember what the name of the 4-1 stage in Vandal Hearts was...

Fucking hell I forgot about Castlevania.
Each castle has it's own identity and it's just great to go through one castle the entire game and beat Dracula at the top. Really gives the game a sense of scope and epic-ness.

Zebes from Super Metroid and the Metroid Prime Worlds. I'd love to visit Tallon and Aether.

Castlevania. I love exploring and big spooky castles.
Zebes and Tallon IV and other Metroid worlds. I love exploring and big forests and caves.
Crash Man's level. I think a huge tower of pipes is rad.
Wind Waker's Great Sea. I grew up on the ocean, and I really loved the sailing in that game. Especially during storms. It reminds me of this really bad storm I got caught in as a child on a fishing boat. I remember all the lightning and the coffee cups falling off the shelves and the whole boat being tossed around wildly. I was terrified, but at the same time excited.
Yep.

CV: I like the story aspect of it as well, the Belmont Clan vs the eternal Dracula (who happens to be one of my favorite VG villains)

That's my favorite avatar of yours to date, Rowdy.
And FUCK YES KOHOLINT. I love it so much more than Hyrule.

I like Hyrule a lot, but Koholint resonates with me the most. Probably the tropical aspect, with the beach and it being an island an all, and the whole dream thing, which is something I've always been in to. Dreams and such.
