I voted Get Equipped.. I prefer the raw energy of get equipped. though Get Acoustic brings new flavour to the songs I fell in love with. Being the fact that Crash man in both of them is one of my favourites! The Message being my favourite on Get Equipped so far... and Heat man my favourite from Get Acoustic... I might sound bland, but I really can't find a better way to say... they are completely different things... you don't judge a football and a soccer ball on how much further you can kick them... it's individual. Just the same as these albums... I prefer the cop out of Equipped because that's how I fell in love with the Megas. Sorry for the massive wall of text behind me... it's actually sorta not too big, these extra sentences aren't helping much though...

Helios, I like your idea of analysis. Hope you don't mind if I steal your idea myself, a little.
I think I like the somber tone of Get Acoustic more overall, which surprises the hell out of me because that's the opposite of what I normally like. Quick and Crash and the Message all feel much more alive, and I think that being able to hear everything on I Want To Be The One is a definite bonus. Also, I actually LIKE Lamentation of a War Machine on Acoustic, while I didn't care for it much at all on Equipped. Also, Airman's chorus is amazing. Hearing the lyrics so clearly is a definite plus overall, and the orchestration definitely makes some of the songs feel much more epic.
At the same time, I think Equipped has a lot going for it, too. It has more lines from Airman, and the absence of "There will be a tombstone with the planet Earth ENGRAVED ON IT" leaves me really feeling the Equipped version's fury. I also find that Metal Man comes through a little more powerfully, it just feels more fitting somehow. Also, I think I like the "Thank you for playing. Goodnight." better when it's softer, more somber. The trujmpet in Quick was also a nice touch that feels missing in the new album, much as I like every other part of those two songs more when acoustic, these two stick out as having been nicer Equippedly. I also enjoyed the voice distortion on some of the lines, it really helped sell the whole "robotic" side of things.
I'm not sure where I fall on Heat Man, Flash Man, Bubble Man, or Wood Man. I think the only reason I might prefer Heat Man Equipped is the minor lyric gaffe in Acoustic and the more robotic secondary voices in Equipped. But I think those voices are as true everywhere else, but only in Heat Man and Air Man do I notice. Bubbleman feels about the same to me in either version, because both kick ass. Flash and Wood Man as well, I can't say I like either one better than the other.
Really, though, both ROCK, and I'd be hard-pressed to recommend one over the other. I'm going to hold off on voting until I've spent longer listening to them side-by-side, because I don't want to come down either way and then find that the faults I find are just me adjusting to the two of them.
Although I'm going to be burning myself a mix-CD of the two of them, I think, so I can listen to the Megas in the car (I got the Digital Copies, not the CDs, but this goodness can't be left behind on a road trip).

I could write a report on my likings and dislikings, but I seriously don't feel like it. I have homework and other shit to do and I can't waste time writing a very in depth speech on The Megas... but I might for Musicianship class! THAT'S IT! I'LL DO THAT!

Eh... I know "Equippedly" isn't a word, but I didn't want to use "electronically", and saying "on Get Equipped" seemed for some reason a daunting task.
Looking back, I think I might have been half-asleep to write so shoddily, but the message is there, all the same.
Actually, listening to them both side by side, I think I might not have been giving either of them enough credit. When I switched back to Get Equipped after listening to Get Acoustic twenty-odd times it felt all fresh and new again.

Ah, good to know. Didn't so much feel you were talking shit, as much as I'm more nervous about how I'm interpreted online. It's one thing in writing a story or in person, where there can be cues beyond words, so I tend to be a little high-strung on-line. Apologies for that. Also, I explain myself too much. And apologize too much. And then carry on doing both to the point that it either gets ridiculous or annoying, and people can't always tell if I'm seriously apologizing or just doing it to make fun of my own bad habits. Sorry.
Glad to have made you laugh, though. That's always a goal.

Honestly, the differences between Get Equipped and Get Acoustic are huge.
It can be difficult - notoriously so - to tell some of the differences in tone when typing something out as opposed to getting a visual cue (or audible cue) as far as the way something is meant, when saying damn near anything. When it comes to something as hugely discussed as The Megas' latest record, it can be very easily misconstrued.
In other words: I liked your post. lolol.

Get Acoustic is hard to listen to when drunk. Unless it's in one of those more somber states of drunkness

I tend to listen to Act II high, but I'll try Get Acoustic next time.

Act II high is INCREDIBLE.
Wait, everything high is INCREDIBLE. That's the main appeal.
