I'd just replace the big ones with Tiddlywinks and make them faster at the same time ;D

If you hold A+B and reload the image, the stars turn into tiddlywinks.
Not really, though.

Haha, when I made that post I thought of how cool it would be if there was a rom hack that turned the birds into a bunch of tiddlywinks.

I've looked through the sprites in that game, and that would be absolutely monstrously difficult. I think each bird is only a single tile big. If you tried to make Tiddlywinks from a single tile, it would be indistinguishable.
<- You see Tiddlycat? That was a 3x3 grid of tiles and it's still hard to make out.
It doesn't help that features of the cat are in there or that the palette's wrong, but still.

Yeah 8x8--and you're restricted to four colors. You can change the palette to get the right ones, but that could affect other sprites on screen.

I thought I might be able to do something, not an exact recreation, but maybe a very small cartoon version. But god damn, 8x8 is a lot smaller than it sounds when you actually start drawing.

Yeah, believe me, I tried. I spent a few hours at least, and Tiddlycat was the most I could manage. It's pretty horrifyingly hilarious to see in action though, maybe I should post the ROM patch.

It was OK.
Would have been better with tiddlywinks.

That's a given. Tiddlywinks is like bacon, it improves anything.

Well then you run into the age old problem of do you eat it because it's bacon or put it up on display for all to see because it's tiddlywinks. It's a catch 22, too much of a good thing.

Wait what?
I'm sorry but I can't see Tiddlycat. Bigger image?
