I just find myself incapable of listening to most 8-bit music unless it's remixed or rearranged to include a little more depth. I can't handle much bleepy bloop; to me it's like the audio equivalent of drinking straight corn syrup.
I find Chiptunes to be much easier to get into because it's like the "core." Sure I love covers and interpretations of these songs, but they can be covered and re-interpreted in so many different styles, genres, speeds and other stuff that it's way easier to get into a Chiptuned 8-bit version of a song, because they don't HAVE a style. It's purely the melody.
Also MM7 is easier than MM2, you suck huge dick if you can't get through MM7.

Even if you think the game sucks, those are terrible reasons for thinking so.
I'm pretty sure retronauts complained about megaman 7 and 8 being over animated and generally bringing up all the points stinkdude just tried to bring up.

FINE I WAS NITPICKING
it's the small shit in MM7 that adds up to a crappy game, and stupid sprites was one of those small things.

lol, MM7 is the first game in the series that isn't older than Stinkdude is. Maybe that's it XD
Don't give me that "it's too easy" schtick because MMX was even easier than 7 on all fronts.

Whatever junior, I love 7. The music sucks but it's a fun game. I never had any problems with Mega Man's sprite being too big or whatever bullshit you guys are talking about.
BUT MEGA MAN 8, DON'T GET ME STARTED...

They never mentioned the sprite sizes, and I noticed something feeling wrong about the game before I knew what over-animated means; all retronauts did was help me put a finger on what was weird about it. Yes, but it had mechanics that were designed around it being easier (wall jump, dashing) that made it fun in it's easiness.

How the hell does the X series have "easier" mechanics when you can easily die in half the hits it takes for you to die in a classic game?
And as for dashing and wall climbing, I take that and counter it with rush and sliding.

I didn't say the mechanics were easier, I said they were designed around an easier game. Dashing and wall jumping made the simple act of getting through the levels fun, whereas classic MM's mechanics weren't fun by themselves so they needed to make challenging stages to make the games interesting.

In other words: "HEY GUYS, CLASSIC MEGA MAN IS ONLY FUN BECAUSE IT'S KIND OF HARD AND NOT BECAUSE IT'S ACTUALLY GOOD OR ANYTHING!"

Classic Mega Man is fun because it has really good level design, X series is good because it has really fun play mechanics, but the level designs in Classic were more fun than the play mechanics in X IMO.

Which is it?
I might be missing the point due to your wording, but it seems like a contradiction to me.

The mechanics themselves weren't easier, but they were designed to make an easy game fun.

THANKS FOR CLEARING THAT UP, INAFUNE.
God, what would we do without a resident spokesperson for Capcom around here? The arguments would just never end!
