I'm not against this game, I just think that it's not the end-all-be-all of DS games that most people were thinking it was going to be.

If you spell something wrong, it will ask "did you mean..." and then list two or three other things that are close enough.
It's not so much of a spell check as does just list some words that sort of contain the same letters.
