item-2 and Rush Jet were not limitless in use.
Item-2 could also only fly in a straight line, and they fixed how Rush Jet steered after MM3.

I never said I approved of Item-2 or Rush Jet; just that it's not as broken as the cape.

Would you prefer if Mega Man didn't gain the boss abilities as well? Or maybe if all Zero could do is use his Z-sword and not power it up. Oh I know! In Battle Network you don't get any chips, all you can do is shoot them with the buster.
MAYBE MARIO SHOULDN'T GET FIRE FLOWERS OR THE SUITS FROM SMB3 OR ANY OF HIS CAPS FROM SM64, SINCE ALL HE SHOULD BE ABLE TO DO IS RUN AND JUMP.
Jesus tap dancing christ, doesn't approve of Rush Jet or Item-2... pfft.
