I'm glad there's internet now. I got my first Mew from a friend, using the link cable duplicate trick (how the hell did people figure that out back in the day?). I don't remember if he gamesharked his original Mew or got it from one of the events, but I HAD ONE AND THAT IS ALL THAT MATTERED.

I watched my friend legitimately acquire a Mew. I felt kind of bad because I got mine from a GameShark friend.

Legimately as in from an event (which, by my understanding, is the only "officially" legitimate method), or legitimately as in utilizing a complex in-game manipulation of the game's code?

Yeah, that falls under the latter code-manipulation category for me. May be "legal", but it's only legit as a Missingno, lol. I'd still give anyone kudos for doing it over GS though. Shit's impressive.

My bad. I thought you meant code manipulation as in forcing values with a GameShark. The difference in this trick and the MissingNo. glitch is that there are no negative repricussions. Your game will continue to function as if nothing ever happened.
