They covered this in South Park. Fags aren't homosexuals, they're people who ride really loud harley's.
Oh hey look, I hit 1000 posts. Go me. Back at Robot Master like I was before someone upped the level cap.

Well, this is a typical female thing that I can't say I don't take part in. Taking pictures is awesome. I've never really thought of WHY I take so many pictures, but if I try to give you an answer... I'm not sure if you mean more pictures of themselves or more pictures in general so I'm going to discuss both... A lot of women base way too much of their self worth on looks. Women just FEEL better about themselves when they feel confident in their looks. We like looking good. We like proof that we look good. Some men prep themselves to look nice but most just roll out of bed, comb their hair and that's all they need. Most women feel they look their best after doing their hair the way they like it and putting on their favorite style of make up. It's nearly impossible to do that every day. So on days where they just feel like shit about their looks it's fun to look at their favorite picture of themselves and go "Damn I clean up nice B]" Having pretty pictures of us just feels nice, OKAY?! Now.. more pictures in general, that CAN get a bit annoying. How many different kinds of pictures can you take of the same party? I like taking pictures at fun times with good friends because I like to look back and remember. Especially now when most of my friends and all of my family are thousands of miles away in another country... but even then I don't see myself letting me taking pictures get in the way of me having a good time. Though I do think it's more of a feminine thing to take photos for memories. I can't think of many guys who keep tangible photo albums. I can think of a lot of women though. TL;DR: When women feel ugly it's nice to have a reminder that they're actually pretty (Along with being fucking awesome) and women hold more sentimental value to photos and feel like it's easier to remember the best of times by looking at pictures...

That makes sense. Although it makes me wonder since men are a lot more of visual creatures than women. I mean look at porn, a lot of that just started out as a bunch of pictures. When a guy WANTS to take pictures of his girlfriend, usually involves her in a sexy outfit or just strait up nude. Then sure enough, that shit winds up on the internet for everyone to see. Kinda selfish I think.
But anyway, since we're on the topic of facebook pictures, what is up with all the duckfaces and when will the vertical angles ever stop!?

It's a fad and I really hope it stops soon, but I think the appeal of it is "I rather take a picture I mean to make look goofy than take a picture trying to look nice and just look goofy anyways" that whole "I'm going to make fun of myself before you can" mentality. (IMHO. I'm sure others might think differently) Vertical angles unfortunately will still be around for a while. It's an easy way to get rid of a double chin. Some girls take it too far to the point where you can see their toes, but taking a picture of a face at slightly above the horizon line has been a trick in glamour photography for years. Don't you think it's a little deceiving to do that? I mean, I'd like to believe we don't judge books by their covers, but a lot of people get pissed when they see a picture of what they think is an average weight girl and then they meet them and HOLY SHIT IT'S A YETI!!! Even some of my overweight female friends are guilty of doing this. I feel like it's some kind of trap to do that.
10 points if you got the reference.

Like Gergus, for me, this is really misleading. I overly think EVERYTHING and feel nervous when I pay a woman a compliment, especially on her appearance and even more so when it's a first time meeitng. I try not to judge by looks and have seen enough examples of people that take it too far that I don't wish to be lumped in with people who do.

I WILL admit I used to fall into this category. Alright, let's go ahead and get on this topic. Yes, it's definitely not the best idea for them to lead people to believe they are smaller than they are, but most over weight women (and I'm sure a lot of men too) are so self conscious that they think if they put their size on display that no one will even give them a second glance. And what's worse? A lot of the time they're right. Sad but true. I unfortunately always had a "pearchan effect" where my face was attractive and not overly chubby and online friends were always surprised by how fat I was when they saw a full length picture (spoilers: I'm fat.) But I digress. Yes, it's messed up that girls try their damnedest to make themselves look thinner or prettier in pictures, But other people need to stop being so judgmental before that can come to an end. I kinda love picturing a ton of guys disappointingly yelling at their monitors "OH GOD DAMMIT, YOU MADE ME LIKE YOU AND IT TURNS OUT YOU'RE FAT! FUCK!" Is being fat really the worse thing a girl can be? Again, I totally agree that misleading isn't right, but that's not going to change until either society doesn't hold as much merit on women's weight and size or science makes a way for us all to look the same... The same can be said for girls (people) who edit themselves to look taller/lighter/younger/"prettier" and so on... if someone is doing this, it's because they're uncomfortable with themselves, and that just makes me sad. TL;DR: Some people are fat. So what? If they're trying to hide it they are doing it because they're embarrassed. Hopefully one day they will either lose the weight or gain the confidence to be proud of how they look. Okay, I'm going to be throwing out a lot of opinions here so take everything with a grain of salt. Psh. Women love compliments. Even if you're strictly platonic, if you tell a chick friend that they look nice today or something you might change their whole out look for a short time. Just don't be creepy! Now you might be wondering "Adnelle, how do I tell a woman I could stare into her eyes for an eternity and not seem creepy?" Well the answer to that one is you can't. There are different levels of intimacy depending on what exactly you're complimenting. If you're completely platonic friends you're probably not going to want to compliment her on her cleavage no matter how apparent she's making it that day. If she's a friend you want to cheer up stick with little formal things. Hair, jacket or some form of clothing. Don't use "cute" if you're not trying to give her any green lights. Use "nice". If you're just meeting a girl, try complimenting her on something that doesn't really have to do with her body. If you like her and you're attempting to flirt, keep it genuine. Smile, laugh, eye color... these three right here IMO are three things that "boyfriend material" compliment on. Not the boobs or the waist or even the lips... funny how that works, I guess. Though I'm sure most of this stuff is no brainer things if I think about it. :X TL;DR: Compliments are always nice, just be aware of what messages they can send. My god women are complicated.

That is a really handy guide! I've always wondered how a guy is supposed to go about compliments without staying too shallow or going off the deep end. Also helpful for figuring out what compliments are useful for a guy in a dating relationship.
