So I actually went in forgetting most of the story until everything came back around the final fight with Ocelot. Should I be saying spoilers? Beat 3, played most of Peace Walker on a friends PSP. Beat 1, skipped 2 because I wasn't ready to put up with Raiden quite yet and then beat 4. Went back and beat Peace Walker HD. Now I'm currently playing 2. So I (mostly) played them in chronological order. I gotta say. 2 is actually amazing once you get past the fact Raiden is a bit unlikeable. All the small things in it make it such a superb game. I'm actually stuck... It's not even at a hard part, either. What's your favorite Snake incarnation? Personally I like Peace Walker. I love the amount of gravel in his voice. I also feel like Big Boss in general has a much stronger character. We know how he thinks. But I'm sure if Solid Snake got the luxury of having hours of tapes in which he interacted with a variety of different characters, we'd understand him better too. MGS3 is probably the only MGS worth playing these days. 'cept maybe Peace Walker.
1's a little outdated, 2 is wordy as fuck, and 4's story is pretty laughable.

And you're completely right, Cowbox. They're all still perfect games. The only one of the Solid series I don't want to play again is 1. Simply because it's hard. After I get through it this time, without accidentally killing Meryl, I don't think I'll be playing it again for a few years. MGS4 is easily the worst of the bunch. Not a bad game, but it just doesn't live up to the other games in the series imo.
