... but would be SICK NASTY if they did.

Cowbox said "Vector needs his own game; Chaotix 2 needs to happen" and I fleshed out the idea on twitter.

Action-platformer with a hub town that splits off into different areas, somewhat like Oddworld Stranger's Wrath. Espio, Vector, and Charmy have their Chaotix Detective Agency that started in Sonic Heroes. It can be split up into missions or chapters or whatever, and you accept jobs from various Sonic characters (barring Sonic, Shadow, and Silver; they shouldn't ever make an appearance). You can play as any of the three and they have differing abilities. For example, Vector is the best at fighting enemies but has limited platforming ability. Charmy sucks in a fight but can get around super easy. Espio is in the middle on both.

Basically you accept a mission or a chapter starts, a goofy cutscene happens where a Sonicbuddy will slam the door into Vector's face or something and give Espio their request. You go through the area specified in the request to find the person or object or whatever that they want you do find. Maybe Big's lost Froggy again and you've got to track the little guy down. Cheese got lost on the way home with Cream and you have to find him and bring him to her. Rouge got a jewel stolen and she wants to find out who did it so she can take it back. That sorta stuff.

Also, Vex is a smug dickhead, Charmy is an annoying twat, and Espio is a tryhard ninja wannabe. This is all very light-hearted and humorous.

Final boss is Mighty or something, just for kicks.

Killer Instinct (Remake): Killer Instinct would kick so much ass if it were given the MK9 treatment, but appearently Rare doesn't give a fuck about KI anymore, which is sad because KI was my favorite fighting game when I was a kid.

Clock Tower 4: CT was abandoned by Capcom because CT3 was a failure. Too bad, since CT is the scariest game I've ever played.

Dino Crisis 4: Exact same situation as CT4, except DC wasn't quite as scary as CT.

Ristar 2: Ristar was the shit, I actually preferred it to Sonic the Hedgehog. All we got since the original Ristar was a SEGA Gamegear port, and the game, being released in 1995, failed to reach even 1/10 success of a game the same members of SEGA worked on earlier: Sonic the Hedgehog.

Sweet Home remake: Sweet Home is my favorite licensed game of all time, and hasn't even been acknowledged since it came out, which is a shame as it the reason Capcom has their #1 series in the first place.

Splatterhouse 2 remake: Splatterhouse failed heavily, and it's not even because the game was bad. It's because Namco seemingly found every single way to make it fall under the radar, to the point I didn't even know about it until a year after it came out (And I was a HUGE fan of Splatterhouse 1-3)

JT. I agree with absolutely EVERYTHING you just said.
Granted, I feel like another Chrono game is something I would buy regardless of it being good or not.
So that's not really gonna belong in this thread.

I always felt a Sonic Heroes concept mixed with the new style gameplay would be cool.
Plus now you have more characters to work with. So you can drop half the gay ones for good ones.
ie. Big is dropped for Silver because fuck it I like Silver.
Cream is dropped for Blaze because fuck it I like Blaze.
Rinse and repeat.

They'd have to SERIOUSLY revamp the whole team mechanic thing in order to make it even remotely palatable.

I was about to say "but Silver, Blaze and Amy wouldn't make any sense as a team" and then I remembered the plot to Sonic 06.

I wasn't meaning make them a team.
I was just saying to drop some pathetic characters for better ones.
Even throw some Sonic Riders characters in there. Jet is a badass motherfucker.

Speaking of Chrono, I just remembered that one interview revealing why we won't get another game in the series.

http://www.rpgsite.net/news/342-square- ... r-buy-more

WHAT THE FUCK HASHIMOTO YOU COCKBITING BITCH!?

Nevermind the fact that Chrono Trigger is one of the most beloved games of all time (Right up there with Final Fantasy 7 and Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time) since you don't care about the fanbase or critical reception, but how the hell hasn't it sold well!?

Here is a chart showing data of how well each game has sold:

http://www.vgchartz.com/gamedb/?name=chrono

On the SNES, CT was a smash hit in North America with around 300,000 units sold. In Japan it was a HUGE success with over 2,000,000 units sold. And the game went for $70 a copy. 70x 2.300,000 is $161,000,000!
WTF did they spend our 161 million dollars on? Because if it went into developing FF8 I will be pissed.

We HAVE been buying more Chrono games, anyhow. I've spent $230 on the series ($70 on CT, $50 on CC, $50 on CT/FF4 PS1, $40 on CTDS, $10 on CTPSN and $10 on CCPSN) between 2 games.

But hey, don't take it from me or the 9,010 people on the internet saying the same thing, take it from the sales chart, after all data speaks louder than text messages.

Chrono Cross:
NA- 620,000
EU- 420,000
JPN- 690,000
Other- 120,000
Total- 1,860,000

Chrono Cross, despite costing $50, was also a huge success. 50x 1,860,000 is $93,000,000. WTF did SE spend our 93 million dollars on? Because if it went into FF12 I will be pissed.

Chrono Trigger DS:
NA- 510,000
EU- 100,000
JPN- 490,000
Other- 6,000
Total- 1,170,000

1,170,000 copies sold. That's WAY above average, epecially for a PORT. Each copy cost, like, $40! Square Enix made $46,800,000 from a port and they STILL complain! I don't get it!

In total that's 5,330,000 copies sold, earning $300,800,000 between 2 games and a port.
Oops, I forgot. That must be a failure for them just because it hasn't sold like fucking Dragon Quest >_>

Keep in mind, this doesn't even include sales data from the PS1, PSN, or VC version of CT or CC, so the numbers are actually at least quite a bit higher. However, both Chrono Trigger AND Chrono Cross were at the #1 spot of most downloaded PS1 games on the PSN store for several weeks, and continue to be fan favorites.

Bottom line, the Chrono series is highly popular. It's not a failure at all, and Hashimoto is a douchebag who would rather give us FF13-2 and a game so bad the company had to apoligize for making it just to make some cash. He doesn't give a damn about Chrono Trigger just because he could milk the tired-ass tits of FF to make more dough than he could with the Chrono series. Because of his greed, we will never get Chrono Break.

Sad but true.

Nah, I just wish Square Enix would stop giving us bullshit excuses as to why we won't get another CT game instead of blaming the fanbase. The extremely dedicated fanbase that had 2 of their non-profit games cancelled. The fanbase that contains a guy who proposed to his girlfriend by hacking his favorite game. The fanbase that has spent hundreds of millions on the series only to be told we suck. Fucking Square Enix

A portable game might be good though. The portable games by Square Enix are the only good things coming out of it (Dragon Quest remakes and sequel, Dissidia/Dissidia 012, FF4 the After Years, etc.)

Fuck dude, not in Chrono Cross. Take a look at Blue Dragon. That shit is as close to a third Chrono game as we're gonna get, and it was super disappointing and mediocre.
