Condemned 2: Bloodshot, is one of my favorite games this generation. Mainly because of how gritty it is. All of the environments are dark, dank, filthy, and full of hopeless drug users. Does anyone else have any gritty games they like? Bioshock is a great example, and so is Silent Hill. JRPG's receive an automatic disqualification, because gritty and pansy can't be used to describe the same thing.

Condemned is great for nights you can't sleep.
Manhunt was great...just because it was banned.
Left4Dead obviously
Any Zombie game ever made for that matter, I probably own.
MAdhouse looks like its going to be that game that brings me back to the wii.

Dead Rising wasn't gritty enough. RE4 on the other hand...
RE5 looks like gritty glory (I love the word "gritty")

Dead Rising was a great Zombie game though, if you can get past the load screens....I consider all zombie games gritty.
Also Seconded on RE5

What about the game 'Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel without a Pulse'... was that gritty? It did have zombies after all.

That game had had biting the heads of the innocent as they are screaming for mercy. Gritty isn't the only thing to describe it.

Condemned 2 is great. The story is a little out there, but I find the premise hilarious. Hobo cop sees spooky shit and investigates a haunted meth lab to find out about an evil cult. And the grizzly bear chase was fucking insane. I'm just going slowly through the cabin when my objective changes in the corner, and I'm there thinking 'Why is my objective to run for my li-- HOLY SHIT A FUCKING BEAR RUN!'
I don't know if I'd really consider it gritty, but I always liked how Half Life 2's graphics had a nice realistic look to them even when you're fighting crazy shit like Striders and shit, it always looked believable and never out of place.

Looks boring. But FUCK! That ending.
Speaking of gritty, I'm playing through Dead Space 2 again. The harpoon gun still fucks shit up.

I almost typed up a bunch of stuff about how great condemned 2 is and hobo cops, haunted meth labs, and bears, but then I saw this is an old thread and I already did that.
