That's a Mokujin suit. He was a playable character in 3 (and 2 I believe) who would imitate a random fighter in your roster. One round you could be fighting as Nina and the very next round you would be Yoshimitsu.

Well in order to be ACCURATE "bad box art Mega Man" he'd have to have the proportions of a gorilla and the stance of a spider, but making him a tad fatter is still funny as hell imo.

I don't really care that it's the "only iteration" of Mega Man because it's a god damn fighting game. A perfectly proportioned Mega Man in TxSF isn't gonna curb anyone's cravings for a real MM offering, so we might as well get our laughs from the gag and move on instead of getting our panties in a wad.

Also, what you're saying is still slightly better than the people I saw on youtube who didn't get the reference in the first place and thought this was some kind of new bastardization of the MM character and/or felt like his very existence was a blight upon the game itself, even if they DID get it.

I don't know if you actually meant that or it was an error but that's a completely different game.

I kinda feel bad for Namco, bringing Tekken dudes into 2D seems way easier than figuring out how to get the Street Fighter dudes to feel right in 3D, not to mention Capcom already has a history of making these crazy crossover 2D fighters.

I guess it was an error. That's... weird.

Here's a paragraph from http://www.hadoken.net/

Capcom approached both Sony and Microsoft to develop exclusive characters for each system. Exclusivity means that the giant corporations, Microsoft and Sony, will have to pay capcom for including such and such character and him/her being exclusive to that particular console. Sony said yes and galdly paid Capcom to make the 5 exclusive characters we now know, while Microsoft declined the offer, and therefore Capcom is not making any extra characters for the Xbox 360 version.

Ono even went ahead, and stated that he wanted Halo’s Master chief and Gears of wars Marcus Phoenix to be included on the 360, however Microsoft declining the exclusivity offer made these requests only wishful thinking.

So you want to blame someone for this exclusivity non-sese? blame Microsoft!

I think what he said is totally true - if Microsoft doesn't want to do it, and they think the game isn't worth investing in. Sony was willing to pay for the advertising, they can't do it for free for MS just for the fans or they'd be breaking their deal.[/url]

I'm well aware of that. Like I said, if it was just Cole, that would have been whatever. What irks me is that it's FIVE FUCKING CHARACTERS. That Capcom would even make that kind of offer to EITHER company is fucking ridiculous. Even if Microsoft had agreed and done the same sort of deal, and gotten like, Master Chief, Marcus Fenix, Asura from Asura's Wrath, and fuckin' Dig-Dug or something, that would still be stupid and dumb and irritating because WHY WOULD EITHER CONSOLE HAVE THAT MANY EXCLUSIVES ?????? Soulcalibur 2 and 4 at least only had one character per console when they did it. Fucking christ.

Capcom just wants to suck as much greedy money out of whatever pore they can. It doesn't matter if it's "DLC" that's already on the game you have and you just pay to unlock it or that they release the same game twice in one year, the second time with new characters and then further DLC of overpriced costume swaps.

I'm annoyed, Fox, because Capcom isn't giving us ANY Megaman and all we get is this.. reference to Megaman in a Street Fighter game? It's not hard to believe Megaman would show up in MVC3. They won't even sell Inafune the rights to finish Legends 3, refuse to put him in MVC3, canceled Universe and give other UMVC3 Megaman skins. Then we finally get a game with Megaman in it and it's this.

Believe me, it looks funny, but when you just want to play a new fighting game as Megaman, in any of his incarnations, and you get trolled like this, it sucks. There's no reason for it.

I'm not defending Capcom's money-grubbing tendencies.

But if you're THAT hard up for Mega Man that you'd be willing to buy a game like this PRIMARILY to play as MM in a completely unrelated fighting game, maybe you've become a little too dependent on the Blue Bomber and should be probably be using this dry spell to detox ;)

Don't even give me "Baw, no MM in MvC3". You got Zero. It's basically the same goddamn thing.

There's no reason for it? There's no reason AT ALL to include ANY Mega Man in SFxT, so the fact that he exists as a gag character is more than you had any right to hope for in the first place, dry spell or not.

I still think it's awesome he's being included, especially since universe was cancelled. I enjoy the idea of actually having this terribly designed looking dude that's always been sort of an in-joke for fans actually being included in an official way.

I honestly don't understand how people are getting mad over this, the PS3 exclusivity makes sense to get upset over, but people taking bad boxart megaman as a personal insult towards the fans from capcom is a bit much.

Zero's a loser and is pretty different. =P I wasn't going to buy SFxTekken anyway, I don't have a system to play it on, but the fact that they keep trolling Megaman fans like this is pretty shitty. I'm just saying that when they can't put Megaman in Marvel Vs. Capcom 3, especially when he's appeared in the previous ones, and is the biggest Capcom mascot they've ever had, or the remake or any of its DLC, and cancel two Megaman games in one year, it stinks. I know there's no reason for him to appear in SFxT, but it's like they're throwing a bone to starving people, and as they go to gnaw on it, they laugh, because it's literally just a bone.

I wouldn't buy a fighting game just for Megaman, but he's the little extra push I'd need to actually purchase UMVC3 or SFxT or whatever countless remakes they make of either. It's a "throw in the ______ and you've got yourself a deal" and the blank is Megaman. That's why I'm annoyed.

And I likely would have played MML3 and MMU.

Zero's a fucking boss. MAYBE YOU JUST DON'T THINK SO BECAUSE YOU'RE TOO HIP FOR THE X SERIES, JERK. He plays differently, sure, but it's still enough that you can't say "baw, they're ignoring the franchise"

tbh, I thought MVC3's roster was bullshit all around. There were a lot of great characters cut (and fewer to choose from pre-DLC/re-release), and I'd've been just as pissed about it whether there'd been a BLUE Mega Man or not.

Yes, the lack of a proper MM game sucks. But I think it's totally irrelevant to this. Would you "forgive" them for cancelling two great Mega Man games if he actually made a NON-gag appearance in SFxT? Or even if they added MM DLC to MvC3? Woo-hoo, I get to shoot people in a fighting game! My cravings for Mega buster action have been temporarily appeased!

I don't see it as a bone being thrown, I see it as a hilarious joke. I'd RATHER have the joke than play as generic Mega Man in yet another crossover fighting game. Mega Man games are great because Mega Man games are great, not because Mega Man is thin. Including the "right" MM in SFxT isn't going to right any of Capcom's recent wrongs.

That's how I feel about this whole thing too, but if you look at some of the fan reaction to this it seems a good chunk of 'hardcore' fans think capcom is doing this out of spite and is trying to tell everybody who likes megaman to fuck off.

Which they are doing in other ways, sure. But this particular instance isn't the "icing on the shit cake". This is just fun, and more interesting than just throwing in MM classic. Honestly, the "real" Mega Man being included in this game would feel a LOT MORE like a "bone being thrown".
