Is frustration an emotion? It should be based on the level of frustration I get from Decade Duels by slowly acquiring cards.

Portal 2 toyed with me quite a bit, but ultimately it did do a great job of delivering the moods of certain situations.

I'll also say that Chell went from looking like female convict in Portal to a supermodel in Portal 2.

The Cristina memories in Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, and the Death of the family in ACII. Uhhh, Locke's flashbacks in FFVI. The reuniting of Edge and Christian in Smackdown vs RAW 2011. And.... Hoisting the Stanley Cup in NHL11: Be a Pro. After 80 or so 90 minute games (I play legit length) I felt satisfied as fuck.

I'm writing an entertainment piece for my school's Fall Arts book. It's about video game voice acting, with a lot of focus on Bioware. I recently found out the woman who did the voice for Jack in Mass Effect 2 was also Juhani is Kotor.

I've debated about voice over stuff before, but my preference is that I like when characters sound distinct. Jennifer Hale doesn't sound as distinct to me because she's in fucking everything. So is Steve Blum; I mean come on, he had more than one somewhat important roles in Mass Effect 2. And, of course there's Nolan North's golden voice of almost generic familiarity. I knew going in there were going to be a lot of repeated name, but holy fuck, these folks work.

Voice is just one factor of characterizing someone in a game, but I find that I connect more when there seems to be a real identity attached to the character. John Marston, Ezio Auditore, Isaac Clarke, and even NPC's like Alyx Vance or Andrew Ryan help make their roles feel more consequential.

I really Dug Ezio. He had good voice work, and unlike his predecessor, an effing personality.

Yeah, Altair was really bland. Maybe it's because Italians are more expressive than Syrian warrior monks.

Speaking of Assassin's Creed, I've been playing through Brotherhood. You can recruit people as Assassin's and send them of to mission throughout Europe, it how you level up their effectiveness in actual gameplay.

I don't know if it's my tendency to engage in arbitrary role playing, frustration at lost time or a slight emotional attachment to the story, but this happened. I sent four recruits on a mission to Moscow with a 89% chance of success. I start dicking around in Rome, do side missions for thieves and whore, and I check back on my recruits. They all died. I immediately went out into the street and started killing every soldier I could find. It might have been the role playing thing where I was just like, "Oh, this is what I would do if I was Renaissance Batman/Clint Eastwood."

Man. I just finished the Evil story to inFamous 2.
What a roller coaster. It's so difficult to do without feeling like an utter dick.
I actually nearly cried. It was so good... well... ermm... bad.

It's a route that could lead to a sequel.

I think it's hard to imagine another sequel after the good ending.

Maybe they could make sequel-ish things where you play as other Conduits.
Not electric powers persé. I think it would be an interesting concept.

I've never cried from a game. The only times movies ever made me tear up is when they enter 'Old Yeller' territory.

Speaking of which, Dogmeat's death made me very sad. Those goddamn fire ants! I killed Dr. Lesko for creating those monsters, and I sold that little bastard who sent me on the quest into slavery.

I'd always revert to an old save if Dogmeat was killed. :(

Did anyone mention Fable 2 when your dog sacrificed itself for you? What really broke me up is that it was a completely pointless death! Since I took a bullet as a child and survived. :(

Also, in the same game, the anti-climatic final boss made me emotional, but in a completely frustrated way.
