From what I've read about the title update, it sounds like 343 might be able to actually save the game.


also the full list of maps is confirmed now.

Beaver Creek
Damnation
Prisoner
Timberlands
Hang Em' High
Headlong
Installation 04 (firefight map based on the second level of the campaign)


each map is going to have a classic version and an updated version with new areas and weapon layouts for reach to work better with armor abilities.

The multiplayer component of Anniversary is in the Reach engine, and plays on the Reach matchmaking servers.

There's going to be a title update released before the game that adds more classic settings, like removing armor abilities, tweaking how certain mechanics work and changing bloom and weapon damage to feel more like classic halo; but other than that the multiplayer is Halo Reach matchmaking, similar to how ODST was Halo 3 matchmaking with additional maps.

Yeah, i would have preferred classic Halo CE online, but judging by what's been shown so far the TU could really help reach out.

Bloom is optional now, and disabled in Classic gametypes.

Bleedthrough damage is back, so you can get a melee kill without fully draining somebody's shields and it also makes the DMR a 4 shot kill

Pistol is buffed to a 3 shot kill again only for classic gametypes

Sword lunge can only be blocked by another sword, which makes it more of a power weapon again.

And a bunch of other small changes to armor abilities have been announced, Camo doesn't last as long now, armor lock is not a block everything get out of jail free card now, it doesn't repel sticky grenades anymore, and all damage you take is transferred into the armor lock's timer, so the more you shoot somebody the quicker the armor lock will pop, and if they are weak enough you will be able to kill them with something like a grenade or rocket from inside armor lock.
