My roommate and I just had an argument over whether or not the crew at McDonald's at 12:40am was mad at me for going through the drive-thru and ordering two items twenty minutes before closing. I try to see the world in a way that suits everyone, but he was telling me that everyone at that McDonald's was giving me attitude. I don't know if he was seeing the setting in the way he wants to see it, but he got the timeline of the situation wrong and he's insisting that their shock at my sauce choice (caramel) was actually because I ordered only $4 worth of food.
I'm starting to think...
that my roommate...
is a dick.
I'm only saying this because he interpreted the situation as me being a jerk to a crew of fast food workers at a time that was almost closing. He wants to see me as some scumbag, and not just a regular guy who's taking advantage of the full hours of a fast food establishment.

@ Cave Man; I used to work at McDonald's. It's more like you just shut your brain off so you can't feel anything. Because the existential panic of the simple act of working at McDonald's can cause severe behavioral dysfunction.
Comm; I just got the caramel when they asked what kind of dipping sauce I wanted. I really hate Sweet and Sour.
Also I'm on an Ipod touch right now. Typing is a pain in the ass. Which brings me to my next point; I'm pooping right now.

Mostly it's just monotony. No matter what, you're gonna have to swallow your pride and remember that pretty much everyone else is doing the same.
You serve, you clean, you take your break, and occasionally you stay late and make about $13 in overtime. You aren't in control of your fate. Your managers decide what you're going to do. I served orders in the store, because (despite my sour demeanor) I'm a pretty easy-going dude. If you're a guy, chances are you're gonna be frying meat, but I guess I lucked out.
