Um, I'm not sure if any of you are much into PSP gaming. But, how do you guys feel about what seems to be a transition towards completely down loadable gaming? I'm not sure if the PSP2 or whatever is going to have discs or what have you, but I've always liked hard copies and i hope they don't completely remove them.
Either way, i've recently been falling in love with this little machine, so much you can do with it.

UMD's aren't great. I don't care about a hard copy on the go. All I really wanted were some sweet RPG's that I could take with me, but now I just want it to be a jailbroken nes/snes/gba/ps1 machine.

I certainly like having the option, and from what I've heard sony's new handheld is trying to go for simultaneous releases of games in stores and on PSN.
But yeah, digital is nice, but aside from buying PC games on steam, I prefer to have physical copies of my games. I personally keep my old consoles and hold onto my favorite games, and at this time wouldn't really feel safe having my collection of games be digital. I'm still curious as to what will happen with my XBLA games and DLC I've bought years down the road when we're on the next console generation or the one after that. I'm not expecting the next generation of consoles to be 100% backwards compatible, but microsoft has already shut down xbox live support on the original xbox, so who's to say they won't do it again when they move onto the next console?

I think for handheld media, a downloadable system is a good place to be headed. I don't want fifty DS cards and PSP UMDs. I like having hard copies of a console game but really handhelds are about convenience so making a shift to being primarily digitally distributed is a much better business model, in my eyes.

I like physical copies way too much to go solely digital.
Except on the PC. Haven't really bought any hard copies of PC games.

I made the mistake of picking up the PSP 1000 when it was first released so, it had no Video Out or even a Mic Port... the battery life was surprisingly decent though. Anyway, it suffered a nasty street fighter 2 related death (I was so into beating it in every conceivible way I didn't notice the scary death grip I was holding it with untill the screen splintered!) and I've been putting off picking up a new one cause I'm a cheap ass!
I think the Majority of Hand-held games should be soley distributed as digital copies. A portible system should be treated as such and keeping track of DS cards and UMDs is kind of a pain... Limited releases of anniveresary games like Zelda, Mario, and Megaman being the obvious exceptions. Whatever just an opinion.
