Didn't have any strong feelings on it really. I like the 6th one the most though.
The 6th one is my favorite too
I've read through the entire Harry Potter series quite a couple of times. It used to be one of the few books I could stand. I've broden with literary horizons since then.

Just finished reading Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, and for a book that claims Honest Abe led a vampire genocide it is very historically accurate. it should be read if for nothing more than the sheer novelty (it is a good book though).

I've been trying to write a novel for the past five days, and it's not going great. It's sort of based on my first year in college, but I've separated different experiences into different characters.
I'm gonna try to read Dune. I'm trying to get into classic sci-fi.

If anyone likes sci-fi, pop-lit, vamp-ocalypse check out The Passage by Justin Cronin. It's actually pretty damn cool, and I wouldn't want to spoil anything but the book is practically bifurcated into two stories that are drastically different in how they unfold. The first chapter actually really sucks, but if you can power through it, the book gets really entertaining.

I'm reading the Earthsea Quartet and really enjoying it, although don't get too much time to read with the stupid hours I've got at work atm..

Reading a book called Timeline by Michael Crichton. Pretty great story all the way from 1999. Same guy who wrote Jurassic Park... I think I'll try to read Jurassic Park, as well as a few more of his works over this summer.
That, and I'm going to try and read a series called A Song of Ice and Fire. Been watching A Game of Thrones with some friends, so I figure I may as well actually read the novels.
Got my reading work cut out for me, but at least I know where I'm going.

I've been reading the FUCK out of George RR Martin's A Song Of Ice And Fire series. I've very nearly caught up with the series thus far. It's so fucking excellent. Jesus Christ. You have no idea. Maybe you enjoy the HBO series based on it, Game Of Thrones? Maybe. I heard it's excellent too, but I have yet to watch it.
But fuck man, it is a good lot of books.
I've also read a handful of Chuck Palahniuk books out here. On the ship, my kindle is my best friend.

I recently started reading the Discworld novels by Terry Pratchett. They're pretty funny.
Other than that I recently caught up with The Malazan Book of the Fallen / Novels of the Malazan Empire. It's a pretty fantastic fantasy series written by two authors. One of the authors has finished his story, and the other is about half way done with his. Total I think its 13 books long right now and will probably end up around 16-18 so it's pretty long. I highly recommend it.

When I worked at Barnes and Noble I used to see the Discworld books all the time but could never justify starting a series that's close to 40 books long. Then my friend handed me The Color of Magic and said, "Fucking read this tonight." I did, and I'll probably be in debt to him until I die for introducing me to the glory that is Terry Pratchett.
Also now that I've noticed this whole thread isn't about fantasy books I have two more books to recommend. Ordinary People by Judith Guest was probably the greatest book I had to read in highschool. It's fairly depressing but OH MY GOD is it good. The other is a historical fiction book I had to read in college called The Killer Angels by Michael Shaara. It's about the Battle of Gettysburg during the Civil War and from the point of views of both sides.

Even his books outside of Diskworld are incredible. I highly recommend the Bromliad (If that's how it's spelled) Trilogy. The Johnny Series. THE AMAZING MAURICE AND HIS HIGHLY EDUCATED RODENTS IS THE BESSSSSST
Also. Death is amazing because he uses caps like a real man.

I'm currently reading the Hunger Games Trilogy. I'm working 9 hour shifts for 7 days straight and having something fast paced to read helps me not want to slit someones throat.
I'm going through about one a day so far (Starting and probably finishing the last book today) and they aren't too bad. It's a balance between Fighting/Politics/Romance and I think there could be a bit less romance, but it's legitimately about kids brutally killing each other. I'm annoyed at how I see the love triangle forming and can see how it's going to be exploited in the movies though. I dread seeing "Team Peeta" "Team Gale" Tshirts and bumper stickers... But since I'm just putting in about 6 hours a day on the books and they help distract me, I really can't complain.
Also, it seems the movie is going to have a pretty bad ass cast... So I'll probably still watch it...
TL;DR: 70% Battle Royal, 15% Twilight, 15% 1984. 6.5/10.
