To summarize: Stinkdude is a moron, this forum is a scary place sometimes, Rowdy is (as always) a twisted motherfucker, and Sonic 06 Eggman is awesome. I liked the realistic re-design a lot more than when they gave him fucking lurpy spider arms.
I'm not even going to comment on the character list.

I'm not saying I prefer him to the cartoony look, but his Adventure style is fucking retarded. I hate it with every Sonic-loving fibre of my being. So 06 at least made him look less disturbing. His proportions also felt a lot more like his classic look, which is a good thing.
But I'm not arguing this with the guy who likes Shadow, hates Jet, and thinks the Heroes Metal Sonic is the coolest. Our opinions on character designs could not be more different.

I'm assuming you mean SA1. If so, I don't really blame you, because his model in that game was horribly low-budgeted. But with his golden nipples, giant bulbous crotch, lack of goggles on top of his head which draws attention to his baldness, and, in the cutscenes, his acting is so ridiculous with his arms flailing around like a headless chicken and shit, I can't possibly agree with you that the '06 model is worse than the SA1 model, because SA1 was just really low-detail and shit. In '06 they put THAT MUCH thought into it. They went to the trouble of completely redesigning him, so they did that bullshit on purpose.
And I don't "like" Shadow in the sense that you seem to think, I just don't hate him like you; I know he has his fair share of faults, but there are far worse Sonic characters, and hating him just because he's a Hedgehog is kind of stupid to me. It was inevitable that there would be a rival Hedgehog in the series eventually.
I'm not gonna argue with the Jet thing, I still fucking hate him. I like Neo Metal Sonic because he has a rad ass-tarp. =[

I liked Shadow in SA2; he definitely made that one of the few Sonic games with a really good story. I hate the fact that he's still alive, though. His death made for a great moment in the story, and it seems like they just brought him back for fan-service. Also, THEY FUCKING GAVE HIM AMNESIA, AS IF THAT ISN'T THE MOST CLICHE PLOT POINT EVER.

I'm not really talking about in-game models and cutscenes. I just mean the overall designs in general. I don't know why they decided his arms need to be as long as his ENTIRE BODY, legs and all.
