Well, I didn't care about the outcome either way. Next up... Round 24- the battle of the horror-themed classics Sweet Homevs. CastlevaniaCastlevania was one of my favorite games as a kid, but Sweet Home is the greatest NES game we never got (Sorry Earthbound Zero)! It's what inspired my favorite game series (Resident Evil), and to this day, even though it's only 8-bits, it's pretty scary; one of the greatest RPGs of all time. It's the only NES game to be 1,000x better than the movie (And that's saying something, because the movie wasn't bad either). I wish it would get remade on the PSN/XBLA/WW, but too bad it'll never happen Score: Sweet Home- 1 Castlevania- 0

I bet Castlevania will win pretty much solely because it's more well-known.
I vote for Castlevania.

That as well. But lets say Castlevania was total assballs. It's still more famous than Sweet Home.

By today's standards, the NES version is just... well, alright. But Sweet Home, to this day, is awesome! But yeah, CV will almost certainly win because of its popularity.

Then maybe you should consider not stacking the deck so hard and putting titles together that are actually capable of fostering real competition.
What fun is voting in a popularity contest where the contestants are "super famous awesome dude everyone loves for his name alone" and "some schmuck you probably don't know"

What fun is voting in a popularity contest where the contestants are "super famous awesome dude everyone loves for his name alone" and "some schmuck you probably don't know" 1. Most of the games weren't chosen by me. 2. The games were paired against each other in the order that they are by Challonge's random bracket generator, not me. So yeah, if you think there should be more popular games replacing the less popular ones, and the match order should be changed, I'm not the one to blame. Anyhow, I just think it's not fair to call a game you haven't play worse than a game you have played, that's the reason I said "says someone who probably hasn't even played Sweet Home".

WELL THEN. Wasn't aware of how the system worked. I say we power up a revolution.
It's time for an evolution of circuity.

ChaoticFox wrote: WELL THEN. Wasn't aware of how the system worked. I say we power up a revolution. Nah, I think I'm fine with this system. Besides, it all leads up to the exciting finals and semi-finals with highly recognizable and beloved games anyways. The last few matches are more exciting if you have a ton of less-exciting matches before the semi-/finals like Dr. Jekyll Mr. Hyde vs. Somari. If you want to start your own tournament with different rules (Like no crappy games, the round order being custom and not random, etc.), go ahead.

I'd like to say challenge accepted. But I'm not good with these things and am also good with the current system.
