You have trouble with getting 5 stars for every character? C'mon, is it really THAT hard?
Okay, when you have an hourglass, kill a huge group of enemies, preferrably with grenades. Also, make sure you kill all bosses, they give tons of points. Don't spend too much time picking up ammo, you won't need a lot, but do get healing items if you don't have many in your inventory.
Village- After getting a bunch of time and using the hourglasses from the chests and killing as many enemies as possible, go into the house with a long ladder. Climb up and knock it down. The enemies won't be able to reach you, so yeah, just shoot away. Be sure to save the barrel and chest, don't use them right away, they'll get you a ton of points if you wait for the right number of enemies to be in the house. If you need to go down to get a grenade or herb or something, do it but HURRY.
Also HUNK can snap the chainsaw ladies' necks.
Castle- Kill both Wolverine-looking guys at the end of the castle (But look for the first aid spray inside the one room at the end) with your shotgun/rifle/TMP/Magnum/parasite arm, and there you go: 30,000 points, half as many as you need to get 5 stars. Also, since barrels are all over the place, shoot them after getting the chests to get a bunch of points, since each dead enemy will give you 1,000 points after your 30 seconds of bonus points are up. If you meet any shielded enemies, the rifle is your best friend.
Desert- Kill the JJ guys with every possible chance. They aren't too hard and give like 10 or 15,000 points. Get the time thingies as you go along the stage, there are too many for you to hunt after right off the bat, so you'll lose a lot of points that you could've received by killing enemies along the way if you go after every single time thing first.
Water world- Be sure to get the hourglasses, time and first aid sprays as you go along. Also there is one place where a chainsaw guy automatically appears, so don't go in there if you're already being chased by another chainsaw guy, otherwise you'll have two of those motherfuckers after you at the same time.
Remember, you can find extra time by checking your map (Press triangle to see it). The extra time thingies appears on your map as stars IIRC.
Also, the most important rule: KEEP YOUR COMBO GOING!!!! Sacrifice a magnum bullet on a regular ganado if that's what it takes, but whatever you do make sure it stays up. Don't try and kill every single weaker enemy with you weakest weapon to save ammo, it'll bite you in the ass!
