I know me and JayC play, and someone around here has a Sona avatar. Hopefully that's enough to start a thread about it.

Today in things that are wonderfully broken: A boatload of ability power combined with Twisted Fate's Stacked Deck, Blue Card, and Lich Bane's handy little buff.

I've been vaguely interested in this game, but it looks incredibly hard to learn because of the sheer amount of stuff going on constantly.

It can be pretty chaotic, not gonna lie, since you have to keep track of what's going on in your own area as well as most of the map. Definitely moments of "I can't do EVERYTHING" and "I can't be in two places at once!", but it's generally quite fun.

I thought I posted in here already, but apparently not. I used to play a lot of LoL, but I don't play as much any more. Most of the people I used to play with play DotA2 now which isn't my thing. When I do play I usually play ARAM games because they are quick and way less stressful. Plus I don't really want to worry about how every champion after Lee Sin works.

Man, I find ARAMs more stressful than the regular stuff since it's ALL TEAMFIGHT, ALL THE TIME and I'm kind of really bad at teamfights.

Oh, hey, this is a thing. And yeah, I've played a few ARAMs with JayC.

I tried getting into it, but when everyone is throwing about phrases like ARAM and talking about AP insert character here, I just get confused and I don't really have the time to put the amount of effort required to fully understand the game. Thinking about trying again though.

ARAM stands for All Random All Mid, which just means that every player gets a random character and they all fight in a single lane.

Man, I used to laugh at people that were way into some game that when they talked about it, they may as well have been speaking a different language, and now I'm neck-deep in League. Funny how those things work out.

ARAM sounds like a good way to learn the game without being yelled at for doing it wrong.

Nah, only way to not get yelled at is to play with bots. Which teaches you nothing and then gets you yelled at the second you try to move into the big kid leagues.

A lot of bot games with friends who know more is how I've went about it, with occasional advances into PvP accompanied by judicious application of the mute function when necessary. ARAMs are good for learning teamfighting, but even there people will yell at you for doing stuff 'wrong' sometimes.
Hell, I still primarily play bots. They lack creativity and spontaneity of humans, but at least they're not assholes.

Biggest problem with learning to play in ARAM games is that often times champions are played completely differently.

There is that. Lot of general stats get ignored for raw damage, buildwise.
