looking at meta critic, OoT has 740 ratings, that IS a bit much, nobody is every gonna read all those reviews. The game has definitely been over rated at this point, especially if you want to add the 3DS reviews and gamecube release reviews if there are any.

Me and Gman said Ocarina on page 1, bro. It's been 15 years but people won't stop sipping the kool-aid. Game's good, but not that good.

I'll agree it revolutionized an industry and what-not. But compare it with new games out these days. Or even OTHER Zelda games. I can honestly say I hate Twilight Princess with a passion. But even it was better than OoT in a lot of ways.
Just OoT is more nostalgia. And for a lot of people is the first Zelda they ever experienced. Therefore setting the bar for the future for a long time to come.

I think OoT is overrated too, personally. Give me Majora's Mask or even Windwaker, of the newerish Zelda games, over it.

That said, I prefer it to Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword, which haven't done alot for me.

Also FF7 and FF8 left me so disappointed as a FF fan for a few years there back in the day, luckily they were followed by FF9, which made me happy for a while afterwards.

I dunno if I already posted this already, but SKYWARD SWORD.

All the reviews hailed that game as the future of gaming and the pinnacle of action games as a medium, and it just... wasn't. I mean, god damn, not even a little bit.

I enjoyed the game, but that game was hyped to hell and back and it didn't even come CLOSE to living up to what people were saying about it (or, for that matter, my own expectations)

KoF has the most absurd learning curve.

King of Fighters is like....some game where your timing has to be precise and takes forever to learn, and arguably is not worth the payoff to beat all 13 people who play it .




I've found half the games released with an Atlus sticker fall into is. Etrian Odyssey is my most recent experience with it.

I had literally no expectations for that game. I went in knowing it'd be a pile of ass. And I STILL was disappointed. So easy I almost fell asleep at parts. The motion controls only got in the way (I never had a problem with them. They were just unnecessary.)
The only time I didn't feel like crying while playing was facing Koloktos. Probably the best boss battle in all of Zelda history.
