I was referring to me. I was quoting Reginald from American Dad.

Johnny AMERICA wrote: Bad characters, bad voice acting, some good plot ideas with almost uniformly terrible execution, rather linear (although this was a far bigger complaint before FF13 came out), railroaded you into using certain characters against certain enemies for a good 40-60% of the game, a really shitty final boss (shitty to the point where a lot of people, myself included, just refer to it as a cutscene battle and say the REAL final boss is Braska's Final Aeon) and the minigame is incredibly hit-or-miss with people.
Don't get me wrong, I love FF10, but it is definitely majorly flawed. On top of that stuff, I feel like it was way too obviously linear than some of the other games in the series, and the boring characters made the JRPG aspects way too painfully obvious for me to bear it.

Metal Gear Solid 2 gets a lot of praise from people that remember it coming out, but I was twelve when it came out. I played it when I got the MGS Collection, and 3 just blows it out the water. And I don't know if it was Metal Gear the set the videogame dialogue precedent of
Guy, "A thing." Player Character, "A thing you say?" Guy, "More exposition about the thing."
I fell into the trap for Telltale's Walking Dead game by choosing the puzzled response to an obvious statement and haven't really gotten over it.

Metal Gear didn't INVENT that method of exposition but it certainly popularized it.

This is a little late but... LockableFaceman wrote: I've never played Chrono Trigger. But any game that lets you immediately take on the final boss is okay in my book. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xj1EU1me03Q

Kirby: Canvas Curse gets a lot of acclaim but I don't even think that game is very fun. It's like homework.

Star Fox Adventures. It's not atrocious, but it has some praise. It's just a boring game, and it was my first gamecube game. I don't think anyone is going to stand up for it, but it perfectly fits my description of overrated.
So does Phantom Hourglass (geez, that game sucked).

So does Phantom Hourglass (geez, that game sucked). Again. Where the damn hell are you coming from? Both those games get very little praise. Especially SFA. You shut your mouth about SFA..... Though I agree it's boring. Multiple plays through somehow make it more fun, though.
