I generally look at it on a case by case basis. Not all day one DLC is bullshit, not every online pass has been terrible, some on disc DLC makes sense while other just seems like a cash grab.
Capcom in general seems to be pretty bad with DLC in my opinion whether it's holding back stuff that came with the game (RE5 versus mode and MM9/10 levels and character) or just generally over pricing content like the street fighter costumes. Then you have some really odd cases like the Dead Rising 2 costumes, they were all day one DLC, but not on the disc, meaning that even if you didn't want to buy the stuff you still had to download compatibility packs for each costume so you could connect to somebody who did buy that dlc, all that could have been avoided if the costumes were on the disc.

That's my biggest beef with DLC. I usually don't care if it's on disc or off, as long as it's fairly priced. It's when they think they can charge me 10 bucks for one level or 5 bucks for a pallete swap that I start to think I'm being gouged.

1. Screw Final Fantasy 7 remake, I want Chrono Break goddamn it! 2. Pac-man looks awesome. 3. Capcom is probably going to charge $5 for a Megaman costume to make extra cash from those of us who don't want to play as box art Megaman. (If this is Capcom's plan, then I will so pay for the $5)

Chrono Break? They dropped the trademark on the title... so they probably aren't going to make it. It's unfortunate. Because I have a hard on for Chrono Trigger AND Cross.

I had heard a rumor that Bad Box-Art Megaman appearing in this game was suppose to be in conjunction with MM Legends 3 being released and MMU information coming out, or something. I can't find the link where I first read that at the moment though.

BBA Mega Man was scheduled to be in the game before all of those games were cancelled. He was also approved by Keiji Inafune before he left.

See, with that knowledge, it would've been a hilarious and awesome idea had all the games gone through...now it just looks like they're trying to mock Megaman fans.
