Bought some games dirt cheap yesterday.

First up is Winback: Covert Operations for the PS2. This is actually an N64 game but it got ported over for some reason or another. Honestly, the game wasn't even that popular so I don't even know why they would waste their time. It's one of the earliest games I know of that utilizes cover-based shooting and it shows. Either way, I enjoyed the game enough to pick it up.

Next we've got Lost Odyssey. I've played up to the end of the first disc before, I believe. I just happened to not be in an RPG mood at the time so I never gave it my full attention. I'll plow through it someday because I know it's a damn fine game, especially for $5.

Last up is True Crime: Streets of LA for the GCN. This game, man. Wow. I rented it before on the PS2 but I haven't played it since it came out. It's kinda dated at this point and you can tell the controls are definitely meant for a PS2 or XBox controller, but everything else about this game is PURE GOLD. You play as a loose cannon cop you plays by his own rules -- none. Everything is so over the top. Within the first ten minutes you've thrown a chopstick in someone's ear. Normally I'm not one to say there's a plot twist because then it's easy for people to see it coming, but aside from the fact that there's zero chance in hell anyone could ever guess what the plot twist is, I know none of you are ever going to play this game so I'M GOING TO SPOIL IT NOW HERE WE GO STOP READING IF YOU REALLY WANT TO KEEP THIS A SURPRISE TO YOURSELF. Nearing the end of the game, you end up fighting zombies, demons, concubines, and then a fucking dragon. That's only Chapter Six. It goes on after that to Chapter Eight where the final boss ends up being the general of the North Korean Army. You have a fist-fight with him in the middle of a ring of fire on an airport runway.

Play that fucking game,
