I got the new WiiWare game BIT.TRIP BEAT last night and it's pretty boss. For those who haven't heard of it, it's basically a rhythm version of Pong. The game has you hold the Wiimote classic style, as in [+ o ::: oo], while tilting the controller forward and back to move the "paddle" on screen up and down. It's very fun, visually satisfying, and nothing less than a steal at six bucks.

Has anyone else gotten this game?

I did. I recommend that anyone with a Wii and the internet hooked up to it, DOWNLOAD THIS FREE DEMO ASAP!

They are taking down the free WiiWare demos here soon.

B.T.B is a lot of fun in a techno-y, ball bouncing, chiptunes game.

I got it when GM told me it was available as a Wiiware demo.

I suppose it's kind of charming. I didn't like it nearly enough to try hard enough to even beat the demo though. It's about as fun as a normal internet flash game, and holds my attention for about just as long.

Who would have thought that Fox wouldn't like an 8-bit game about chiptunes? WEIRD

I actually might have liked it more if the chiptunes themselves were more involved, but in the demo at least, the songs were super simplistic and kind of boring. The moving background images totally threw off my groove, as well.

I think it would have been better if it wasn't so damn hard to control the tilt.

Perhaps a point function would have helped it more?

I got bored with it after about 5 minutes.

Who would have thought that JT wouldn't like a game you can't level up in? WEIRD

I had that issue as well. Kind of frustrating. I would have preferred just using the d-pad.

The chiptunes ge more involved when you get further in. I still don't like it that much, tho; the songs are like over 10 minutes long and it doesn't take much to fail and have to start ALL OVER. (still haven't beaten the first level) Also, there's really no way to get good paddle controls without a paddle controller. That makes it especially frustrating.
