1 shot if you use Item #2 to skip over anything that could be done another way
1 shot if you use flash stopper during Quick Man's lasers
2 shots if you run out of energy for any weapon besides Metal Blades
6 shots if you run out of energy for Metal Blades
2 shots if you die
4 shots if you get a game over
Half a bottle if you use an E-tank during Metal Man's fight
Full Bottle if you die during Metal Man's fight
Beat a boss with only your buster (besides Metal Man), everyone else takes a shot
