OOO I do love threads that allow me to indulge like this.

My first MM game was MM2 and I rented that over and over again. I never beat it as a kid but man did I have a good time. thinking the games would get easier as I saw other Nintendo franchises go that route in the later years (or at least more accessible to younger players.) I still played 3 - 6, Never beat any of them as a kid but like before I did enjoy them.

Didn't own an SNES, I had a genesis so I missed out on all those titles when they came out. Now since I've had computers and emulators then I had the opportunity to at least play X and 7. Loved X and I despised 7. I dunno if it was the sounds (which I still find grating) or any of the other extras that I saw as pointless or tedious to get. (I can have Protoman's shield but it only works if I stand still? how stupid.) Still haven't taken the time to play X2 or X3.

When I got my Playstation, I immediately rented X4 and MML then played the shit out of them. Played X4 so much that I even got good enough to take on Dragoon with both X and Zero at the start, no ride armor and only minimal damage. Picked up 8 after seeing it at a block buster and it played like 4. I was happy to see the rush adapters go and some of the add-ons are nice; but, shame they did away with his traditional transformations for ones that I got very little use out of. Didn't enjoy X5 or X6 as much as I should have due to the rank system that turned playing the game into more like work than play which can really turn me off to a game entirely. (and I grind in RPG's for fun.)

After seeing a run through of 2 by Yazars on You-Tube I decided to give 2 another go with Airman First and now I find myself playing through the first six over and over; thoroughly enjoying myself. Even beat 1 a few times and it's not all that hard, just requires more practice.

Recently i downloaded the MMZ series and I'm finding that to be simply frustrating but perhaps that's because I've done so little reading up on it. But then again I like to pick up and play side-scrollers and don't feel I should have to but it seems as though I'm missing out on quite a bit.

Didn't play Battle Network or the startforce ones so I can't really comment on those.

So I'd say MM2, MM3, MMX, MMX4 & MML would be my favorites. (in no particular order.)
