I just beat Sonic CD. I don't like it as much as Sonic 3 because 1. The music in both versions isn't as good. (Yes there are two different soundtracks. You can switch between the Japanese and American-styled soundtracks in the "options" menu.) 2. You can't have Sonic and Tails as a team 3. There are no different elemental shields, every shield is the same element, so there is no fire, water or lightning ( ) shield, just a shield take gives you one hit. But you lose it when you time travel >_> However, it is still a great game. I actually beat it with all 7 dragon ba- I mean chaos emeralds by using the following method. 1. Load my file 2. Try to get to the goal with 50 rings. 3. Enter the bonus game past the goal if I have 50 rings. If not, quit before I get to the end and load reload my file. 4. Attempt to get all 6 balloons in the mingame. 5. If I only have a few seconds left and obviously won't win, I quickly quit the game and reload my save file. Okay, this may be considered cheating, but in my defense, that minigame is frustrating as hell because 1. the ballons seem to fly away from you whenever you get close and 2. it's hard to tell exactly how far away or close you are to a balloon. The 3D effect kinda sucks in the minigame.

There are like eight things wrong with that post but I'll let someone else point them out.

Sadly none of those predictions were right. Unless you count opinion as right and wrong. Then you only got one right.

LockableFaceman wrote: Sadly none of those predictions were right. Unless you count opinion as right and wrong. Then you only got one right. Okay then Mr. know it all, what's wrong with the post? Did I not elaborate enough on how annoying the balloons are? Well not only do they fly away from you when you get near, but they do it in such ways, it's sometimes impossible to hit them by jumping from the way you're facing the balloon. Then you have to do a bunch of annoying manuvering to the point you are in the balloon's direction... only for it to dodge you yet again. It just goes on. Sometimes, even when you do hit one, it makes you go ultra fast (Each one gives you either a speed power-up or rings), which is really a curse in disguise. It makes Sonic goes way too fast, and hitting the balloons becomes a matter of tapping X over and over, hoping that you hit one and not rush into the water until the power up wears off. Plus, sometimes it seems like you're right under the balloon, but when you jump you're actually way past it. Or is it because I called them balloons in the first place when they're actually UFOs (Yeah, I just remembered that they aren't balloons and are actually UFOs. My bad, the fact I called them balloons must have scarred you forever)

Obviously it's the fact that you're collecting time stones, not chaos emeralds, so that's 7 reasons.
and the music is good, that's 8.

And I never said the music isn't good, I just like Sonic 3's OST better. But enough of this shit because it doesn't matter, this is a "what're you playing" thread, not a "let's tell some dude there's something wrong with his post and not tell him what's wrong, even though it's something amazingly minor" thread. Has anyone played Chrono Cross lately? I'd like to go into detail about my experience with it, but I'm afraid I'll call the "elements" techniques.

That special stage is my favorite in the series by far. It's a nasty motherfucker, but it's so much more FUN than most of the others.
I had a blast doing the speed run achievements for the XBLA port.

I had a blast doing the speed run achievements for the XBLA port. Yeah, while I don't really like that minigame, I still find it way better than the one in Sonic 1, 2 or 3. Sonic 1= not fun at all. Not particularly difficult, though. Sonic 2= had potentional to be awesome, but they make you get WAY too many rings and have too many robots waiting to attack you. Plus Tails often fucks you up. Sonic 3= Even harder than the minigame in S2 and SCD combined. They make your character go way too fast after a while, there are red balls EVERYWHERE, not to mention bouncy ball that are always put in such perfect places... such perfect places to screw you up that is. Not even a fun concept to begin with.

I feel like S3's is the easiest, but maybe that's just practice.
First time I got all the hyper emeralds in S3K I ran outside and screamed victory throughout the neighborhood.
Easy or not, I love it though. Feels kinda zen after a while.

Was thinking some more about this while taking a shit, and realize that its ease comes from having the most amount of control plus the least amount of threatening factors.
