Don't shoot!

I've been digging around for a while, following on twitter, reading every update I can find, but I still can't seem to track down any information on how progress is coming with the new album.

The more I hear of the magfest recordings the more excited I get for it - MM3 is the one that popped my cherry when I was a kid. I'm dying to hear more. I've held off on asking around on here because I anticipate it being met with moans of 'oi it'll be ready when it's ready.'

I'm not asking for a promise, not even asking for an ETA, I'm just wondering how progress is coming along on it. Also, maybe more importantly, is there a specific place I can watch for such information? Nothing on the front page here, no forum posts tracking it that I've seen.

Am I just oblivious?

They talked about it on the latest podcast a bit (although I don't remember what exactly they said)

Most if not all of the songs are written. It's just a matter of recording, mixing, and mastering. They're probably still going to tweak with it a bit. They gave three tentative dates in the podcast.

-By the time that Diablo III comes out. (D3 was still "in development" but now it has a launch date). Probably not coming out by May 15th.
-Sometime this Summer. This is probable but it wasn't guaranteed.
-By MAGFest XI. This is the most likely scenario.

I don't remember the date or anything, though I do distinctively remember them saying that they were going to get it out before MAGfest. I think they weren't getting invited back if they didn't get it out, something like that. Which was probably a joke, but one of the guys (I think it was Josh) was taking it super-cereal.

Josh also confirmed a growing number of songs (which I can't recall), but as I remember, it was every song except the Doc Robot song. He can't stop writing songs, apparently. No complaints here.

Yeah. I was completely satisfied with the Spark Man EP but I see The Megas are ruining something so amazing. Who needs 20+ tracks?

It's not the quantity.
it's the quality.
Just sayin

Awesome. I didn't even think to check out the podcasts.

And sounds like this is going to be amazing once it's out. The songs I've heard have all blown me away. I'm excited. I'd prefer the band take their time and make it great than rush it, so no complaints here - thanks for the info guys.

Debating on MAGfest next year now. Never gone, cause I have another gaming con I go to in January up in Milwaukee, but this years was a huge disappointment so maybe.

Anyway, I'm mega excited for the new album.

Sid Meier and Nobuo Uematsu. . . my mind has been blown.

Ok, this will be so much better than MGC...I'm so there.
