Yeah, I liked the idea of the 'I'm not a machine' lyric, too, kinda went along with the whole 'was I built to kill, is there a soul beneath this shell' stuff from lamentations.

But then again, the 'just another machine' can work too depending on how much of the plot of MM3 is gonna effect the album with Gamma originally being built as a giant peace keeping robot, in a way replacing megaman.


It doesn't really matter to me, though, I can't really make it out in the live recording, I could see it going either way.

also "I'm just a not a machine" would be a pretty shitty lyric.

Yeah, I was really unsure as to that lyric, but I heard the lyric before it as "not a machine", which made me go "... well, that ... has to be that?". Not a machine works really well in the previous lyric, and I really like it. But another machine makes both lyrics work.
I suppose we'll find out when the album comes out, though, the official version.

For all we know it's "I'm not a machine, I'm just another machine". Like, it's Mega not wanting to believe that he is only a machine, and then coming to terms with him being just that: a machine. Wouldn't you want a shoulder to cry on a dog if this was your life?

I've been considering it being that, but the way he says it doesn't really seem like he's contradicting what he just said. It seems more like he's repeating it/reinforcing it. (Based entirely on inflection and how it's sung)

Also it would be pretty lame for Dr. Light to insist he's not a machine, especially given The Megas already established by The Message.
It just doesn't like something this version of Light would tell him.

I like "another machine" because it implies that to end all fighting, Doctor Light, out of ALL the things he could have done, just made another fighting robot. And Megaman is kind of pissed at Light for building him in the first place.

I think Mega Man is saying that Dr. Light told him that he's special and not just a machine, but Mega Man doesn't believe Dr. Light and states, "I'm just another machine."

'Another Machine' twice would also sort of fit, reemphasizing it, but that does seem to work.

Lyrically it works, but I don't feel like Dr. Light would say something like that to Rock. It almost sounds cruel to refer to him as "another machine".

I'm not sure which song this is. My familiarity with MM3 isn't as good as 2 or 9.

Oh, right, should have clarified what I meant- this isn't Rock reflecting on what Light said, just what Light did. It's Rock calling himself another machine from the start, not Light, as I see it.
