hey... fuck megaman X? where do you think you are man??
i looooove megaman X i think it has one of the best soundtracks of all time, and would be amazing to hear storm eagle or the rescued by zero songs with freaking lyrics man, and I trust the megas will do an amazing job with those, (hehhehe we'll be getting those some time in the year 20XX)
i agree the castlevania games have some cool songs, i mean, i really love the Symphony of the night soundtrack, it is as well one of the best, but i am waiting for the megaman albums, i mean it's THE MEGAS still hehehe
Megaman X all the way man, i looove it hahahaha
(i wanna hear what they write about zero and the fact that is the best friend of megaman and is created by the enemy of his creator, well i gues they'll write something about that)

As Josh told me at Bit Gen
they would probably only do 2-3 songs under "The Belmonts" because Castlevania doesn't have as much great music under one game name. It has a lot of good music spread out though...
He said the next project will be either
1. Mega Man X
2. Mega Man 9
3. side projects including The Belmonts (I think he mentioned some other stuff too)
on the MMX topic, Josh did say this
"but... how do you take someone like Chill Penguin and make it serious?"
we told him to give it time.

That's kind of the point. No one Castlevania game has a 100% amazing soundtrack like Mega Man tends to, but why can't they do the best throughout the series in one album? There's nothing saying they need to specifically do Castlevania 3 and no other game or something dumb like that. Quote: He said the next project will be either 1. Mega Man X 2. Probably nothing. That wasn't brought up until X5.
I mean, uh, video games are gay.

Castlevania is easily one of the best game series ever, and despite a lot of the hatred, I've stated this when LoS was first announced and I am stating it again, it will be one of the best if not THE best CV game to date, and it will go down in history as an amazing game in general.
It finally has the one thing that CV has been lacking since the dawn of 3D games, a deep engrossing story with actual voice actors and professional cinematography to go along with it to actually tell a story, unlike whatever those hand held games were.
And obviously CV has some of the best V-game music to date, I would LOVE for the Megas to take up some classic NES CV tracks after they are done with MM.

Actually I disagree with this, I'd put the soundtrack of CV1 up against ANY nes or 16bit era video game.
Vampire Killer (pure classic)
Wicked Child (super catchy and great)
Heart of Fire (one of my all time favorites)
Poison Mind (Best CV boss theme outside of Dracula's Illusionary Dance)
Walking on the Edge (very atmosphere for the time)
Only problem it suffers from compared to a MM game is the amount of tracks, considering MM games generally have 8 level themes, 2-3 boss themes, and about 2-3 Wily level theme's it just has more variety and more chances to make a successful sounding track.

As true as that may or may not be, there's no reason to restrict it to one game when there's so many awesome tunes throughout the series. Bloody Tears from 2, The Beginning from 3, Iron Blue Intention from Bloodlines, Bloodlines from Rondo, Awake from Circle of the Moon.... there's so much good material spread out over the course of the series as opposed to packed into one game there's no real reason to only do one game.

"Awake" would be a definite...that's the catchiest song in the series, as far as I'm concerned, and that's saying a lot.
You know, I couldn't see the Megas being able to cover much from the SOTN soundtrack, though. It's probably best-in-series, but most of them just wouldn't fit the Megas' style all that well. They should probably stick to the 8-bit and 16-bit games, because most of those songs have simple enough arrangements that they lend themselves really well to lyrics.

Yeah that is true.. but I would rather they did something like with MM, just cover it by game, so one CD would be CV1, the next CV2, CV4 (super) then SoTN. But honestly I'd be happy with whatever way they chose, and if they did decide to only make one Belmont cd then I would rather have a mesh from the series.

Something dumb like that huh? See I thought that too. I asked Josh why not do an assortment of Mega Man X songs from like X1-5 or something instead of just X1, and he told me that it "hurts the story aspect". Same reason he wants to do Mega Man 9 and not "just some songs" from Mega Man 9. He is really into the story aspect.
this isn't MY opinion by the way, just repeating what Rev Breeding said at BitGen. IMO I'd love to see a whole Belmonts album, or hell, anything to be honest.
edit : on Chill Penguin, I still think he should be rapped. Cause he's chill. So I think a guest spot by Random or someone else is in order. And although I got crucified for pointing this out before, I think Brentalfloss' sillyness would go hand in hand with Chill pretty well if they collaborated on it.

To clarify my earlier point. I want the Megas to stick to Megaman because there is just so many interesting things to see and hear. What would they do with Chill Penguin? How would they portray Wily after 8 losses... and how about Dr. Light and Megaman. There are some great themes left that I am really eager to see covered. (Magma man, Tornado man, Storm Eagle, Dr. Light Capsule...). I don't feel the same about Castlevania, because I haven't played it. But, I also am not urging an album for Pokemon, Legend of Zelda, Metroid even though I really enjoy music from those games. Suggesting Castlevania is like suggesting an infinite amount of possibilities, because there are so many things other than Mega Man. They can't cover ALL the people's interests.
Having the Megas stick, at least for the majority, to Mega Man is kinda their since of identiy. Or at least, when some one says "The Megas" I think "Awesome Lyrics to Mega Man music" The one thing we are unified with is likeing mega man.

Except for the fact that they've showed interest in the possibility of doing a Castlevania side project before.

And I won't mind if they do cover CV. But I'd rather see what they do for X or 9.
