My theory would make Metal Dance something akin to Thriller.
Yes.
YESSSSSSSS..

But I always imagined Metal Dance ending with a Metal Blade ricocheting and slicing Metal Man's head off.
Maybe it was just. . . welded back on, I dunno.

If he's a ghost, his "spirit" would probably remain intact after his body was defeated.
Otherwise, how would ANY of the robot masters fight a second time, ghost or not?

I like the theory. It's a great fit with the album art.
Yet, I feel that Crash Man's was much more upbeat...
Maybe that's because he's gotten what he's wished for. Yes, that's it. Crash Man is happy because he can smile back and know that Mega Man can indeed win as Crash Man fades away. Not to mention he's already overcome the program. Therefor, his song is one of rejoicing. The others are programed to be sad.
And, if there aren't robot zombie ghosts, then how do the great eight posses their machines in mm3? Makes sense to me that they are xD.

I'd see acoustic Crash Man as more of a friendly duel or spar.
He's the last boss song on the disc, so probably the last boss before Wily, so he's happy Mega's about to bring Wily down. And glad he could help.
He's just, you know, still programmed to fight, and sing, one last time. . .
