Ever since we released Get Acoustic as a digital only release, people have been asking if we would ever release it as an actual CD... well, enough of you asked, so we decided to make it happen! The first 250 copies will be signed and numbered, so head over to <a href="http://www.themegas.com/store.html">themegas.com/store</a> and place your order soon! In addition, we've added a few 3XL shirts to our inventory in both Megaskull and Protoskull varieties, so if you've been waiting on larger shirts, now's the time to get one! And since we haven't written to you folks on the email list for a while, one more bit of news: The Megas are playing at PAX Prime in Seattle! Passes are already sold out, unfortunately, but if you are going to be attending PAX, come check us out in a special Jamspace concert with The Protomen and Mega Ran on Saturday, August 27th! We should also have a table for the duration of the con, so be sure to come say hello! Want to see us live but haven't had the chance yet? Do you live in the Northeastern US? Well then, we have just the show for you! We are playing this Saturday, August 14th at the fifth annual Bit Gen Gamer Fest! The event will be held at Sonar in downtown Baltimore, MD. The Megas are coming to Nerdapalooza in Orlando - with a new single!

A week from today, Sunday, July 18th, the Megas return to Orlando, Florida to rock Nerdapalooza! Nerdapalooza is an amazing 2 day concert/party for everyone who is a fan of nerdcore hip hop, chiptunes, comedy rock, video game music, VG remixes, and more. The first night is headlined by our brothers in Megaman rock, the Protomen, and we play the following night, which is headlined by the one and only MC Frontalot! Other artists include Mega Ran, Shael Riley and the Double Ice Backfire, Schaffer the Darklord, Kirby Krackle, and a duo we can't wait to see live, The Adventures of Duane and BrandO! Have you ever wondered what would happen if you took an 8-bit song, turned it into a rock song with lyrics, and then turned that song back into an 8-bit song? Probably not. Regardless, we've got the result! Get Acoustic, the acoustic remix of our Get Equipped album, is out NOW! What started as the recording of one track just for a fun recording project/something to give the forum fans has turned into an entirely new album! Get Acoustic is a track for track remix of the Get Equipped album, done with acoustic instruments... but there�s a twist! We are accompanied on the album by the Monsteropolis orchestra (programmed by Eric) to give it a new layer of epicosity. This is a digital only release. Thats right - the holidays are here again... time for Christmas, New Years, and MAGfest! Were going to be rocking MAGfest for the second time this year - and it sounds like its gonna be better than ever. 3 nights of epic video game concerts, a 24-hour Jamspace for impromptu rocking, a ridiculously huge gaming room with tournaments, live speed runs, and tons of arcade machines, movies, cartoons, panels with industry greats like Sid Meier and more! The current band lineup includes: THE ONEUPS! METROID METAL! ARMCANNON! SELECT START! TEMP SOUND SOLUTIONS! ARMADILLO TANK! THIS PLACE IS HAUNTED! RARE CANDY! A_RIVAL! THE SMASH BROTHERS! as well as our good pals and the other half of Megatainment... ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM! Its going to be an insanely fun weekend. The Megas at GameX in Philly - October 14th!

It seems like just days have passed since our excellent Revenge of The Megas tour, but already we have another east coast assault on the books! We have been invited to perform at GameX in Oaks, PA, which runs from October 23-25. We are playing on Saturday, October 24th, at 5:30pm, followed by the OneUps! Also performing at the expo are Armcannon, Rare Candy, Fenix Down, and more to be announced! The music is brought to you by the people who put together MAGfest, so big thanks to them (especially Dom) for bringing us out. They will also be having chiptune concerts and Jamspace, so it should be a very MAGfest-like experience all around! New music is finally here! We just released Megatainment, a collaboration with our good friends Entertainment System! The idea was born this time last year, when we embarked on the first Megatainment tour - basically they kept hassling us about not planning to do the MM1 soundtrack, so we said "write and record all the music and we'll do vocals..." and that's exactly what happened! We're really excited about how this turned out - Entertainment System brings a different, heavier sound than what we play, so it was a fun challenge to come up with melodies and lyrics! Story-wise, this fits in as a nice prequel to Get Equipped. New "Super Robot" t-shirts and bandanas are available now!

We kicked off the summer with new merch! Some of you managed to get your hands on the new t-shirt design at Nerdapalooza and Comic-Con, but now it�s available online! Our good friend Chris Armes designed these for us, and we couldn�t wait to get them printed. <img src="http://themegas.com/main/Entries/2009/7/29_New_Robo-Merch!_files/megas-robo-design.jpg"> We�ve also got bandanas with the skull logo on them - grab one and become part of the Megas Army! <img src="http://themegas.com/store_files/IMG_0254.jpg"> To cut down on the amount of stuff we have to keep stocked and lug to shows, we are discontinuing the sweatshirt, schematic and 8-bit designs, at least for a while. If you want to grab one of these, pick it up soon before your size sells out! We're down to just one medium shirt remaining in the schematic design, down to 1 XL and a couple mediums of the hoodies, and only a few in various sizes of the 8-bit design. We are also going to limit the skull design to black shirts only, so act fast if you�ve been eyeing a grey or blue one. The Megatainment Tour is right around the corner - can�t wait to see some of you guys there! Here are all the dates so far: August 21st - Game Unicon in Marlborough, MA August 22nd - 64 Bit Gen in Baltimore, MD August 24th - TBD in Philadelphia, PA August 25th - Otto's Shrunken Head in New York, NY August 26th - The Smiling Moose in Pittsburgh, PA We are still looking to fill the dates of August 27th and 28th, so if you live within a 6-8 hour drive of Pittsburgh and you have any connections to booking agents or venues, let us know! Comic-Con activities THIS WEEKEND!

Hey Megapeeps - we had an epic weekend at Nerdapalooza in Orlando, and the crowd set the record for BEST CROWD EVER! We even had Metalman, Quickman, Protobabe, and Mega Man in attendance! Now that the best crowd gauntlet has been tossed, it is time for a new crowd to step up and take the title. There are a lot of opportunities coming up - weve got the 2nd annual Megas northeastern tour coming up August 21-28 - but first, were hitting up the San Diego Comic-Con for a long, exciting, and likely exhausting weekend! Well have a booth throughout the con, location to be determined. Ill post twitter updates to keep you in the know, if youre twitter-inclined. Follow @themegas for that info. To kick off the Con weekend, were going to be performing as the house band on the 91X morning show with Mat Diablo! Well be on the air Thursday and Friday morning, bringing our rock and podcast stylings to the actual radio airwaves! The show runs from 5:30-10am, so were gonna be tired but excited. If youre not in San Diego, you can listen online @ <a href="http://www.91x.com/listenlive.html">http://www.91x.com/listenlive.html</a> - should be a good time! In addition to the booth and the radio gig, weve got 3 shows! First off, this Thursday, July 23rd, were playing the pre-show at Video Games Live at Embarcadero Park! We kick off the festivities around 6, so make it there early if you want to check us out! Next up, on Thursday night, were playing TWO acoustic sets at Bondi, a bar/restaurant directly across the street from the con. Were going on from 10pm-1am, so come on by anytime and check it out! The Bondi is located at 333 5th Ave, San Diego, California 92101. Then, on Sunday, well be rocking again to close down the Con - were playing at Lestats Coffee House with Random Gibberish! This show is located at 3343 Adams Ave, San Diego, California 92116. Tomorrow night we're hopping a plane and heading to Orlando, Florida for Nerdapalooza! In case you haven't been paying attention, Nerdapalooza is a 2-day nerdy music festival featuring a ton of fantastic bands and artists! We play at 7pm on Saturday, July 11th - right before the fantastic I Fight Dragons, on a night headlined by MC Lars and the one and only MC Frontalot! Night 2 is headlined by MC Chris and our friends/archrivals The Protomen, and also features the first ever live performance by The Grammar Club! The event runs from noon till about midnight on both days, and is chock full of excellent performances.
