This just in - we will be playing the preshow courtyard at Video Games Live next Thursday! This is a very special post-E3 edition of the VGL show, and in addition to our performance, the main stage show will be better than ever this year!
It's all going down at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles - get your tickets today! They are running a 2 for 1 special that ends tomorrow night, so act fast if you want to get the best deal. We hit the stage in the courtyard around 645pm, and the main show will begin at 745. Get there early to catch our performance, as well as the costume contest and other festivities!
In addition to VGL, we have a ton of other events going on this summer - first off, we will be playing at Nerdapalooza in Orlando, Florida!
Nerdapalooza is happening July 11th and 12th at the Holiday Inn - Orlando Drive International Resort. Tickets and more information can be found at http://www.nerdapaloozafest.com/ - stay tuned for more details on the exact date and time of our set! Also performing at Nerdapalooza are The Protomen, MC Chris, I Fight Dragons, and many more excellent acts!
Next up is Game Unicon, August 21st in Marlborough, Massachusetts (just outside Boston). This will be the kickoff show on this year's east coast tour! Also on the bill (so far) are the Konami Kode and our pals Powerglove! More acts will be announced - it's going to be an awesome event with tournaments, thousands of games, and dive-in movies in the hotel pool! Get more info at http://www.gameunicon.com !
The next day, August 22nd, we will be making our return to Baltimore for 64 Bit Gen! We can't wait to rock with our brethren in Entertainment System again, this time at a new venue, the Ottobar! The show is even more packed with goodness than last year's awesome show. The Protomen, Year 200X, This Place is Haunted, Cheap Dinosaurs, and The Ultraball will be making a return performance, joined by new bands Rare Candy, Armadillo Tank, and Mega Man X shredders the X Hunters! Get more info on this show at http://www.myspace.com/bitgenocide
We are still in the planning stages of the rest of the tour - so far we have confirmed dates at Otto's Shrunken Head in NYC on August 25th, and at The Smiling Moose in Pittsburgh on August 26th!
We're looking to fill out the rest of our tour dates, specifically August 27th-29th, and we're pretty much willing to head in any direction once we get to Pittsburgh. Ohio, Illinois, Indiana... Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia... New Jersey, Connecticut, New Hampshire... it's all up in the air! If any of you out there have solid leads or connections to places we should play on those dates, hit us up ASAP at band@themegas.com!
Sorry for the long newsletter - lots of things happening very quickly over here! Get in touch with those leads, and we hope to see some of you at one of these gigs.
